Honoring the brave men and women who have served our country. Thank you, Veterans, for your courage, dedication, and sacrifice. #LeopardFamily

We are thrilled to invite you to the 5th grade music program called "America," directed by our amazing DES music teacher, Anissa Manasco. Come and enjoy two performances on Friday, November 15th, at 9:30 am and 1:30 pm in the DHS auditorium.

A circuit is the full route that an electric current takes, starting from the energy source. In Mrs. Wilkerson's 4th grade science classes, students have been diving into the fascinating world of circuits.

Mrs. Morphew's class would like to express their gratitude for your presence at their 4th grade music program, "Lewis and Clark." If you couldn't make it, you definitely missed out on a fantastic performance!

...more 4th grade study of light and sound waves.

Mrs. Miles' science classes have been exploring sound waves and light waves. They've been utilizing slinky toys to illustrate the wave lengths.

National Stem Day Nov. 8

Mrs. Cotten’s science class is exploring the physical properties of matter to figure out which mystery powder is sugar. The students examined the powders and how they reacted with various liquids to pinpoint the sugar.

Mrs. Speck's class Halloween Party. Oh what Fun!

These twins are really connected...a snap shot of the magician's show that wrapped up Red Ribbon Week.

DES loves our parent volunteers. Thank you!

Last week, students at DES created drug-free posters in Ms. Lemser's art class to celebrate Red Ribbon Week. On Thursday, judges selected two students from each grade who showcased particularly creative posters aimed at encouraging a drug-free lifestyle. The elementary counselors rewarded each winner with a fantastic art kit as a prize. Congratulations to all our winners!

Hot air balloons operate on a simple yet magical principle: when air gets all toasty, it decides to float up like a balloon at a birthday party! Mrs. Unruh's science classes have been diving into the sizzling world of heat and molecules, all while flexing their engineering muscles to create their very own hot air balloons. Who knew science could be so uplifting?

5th grade science study of molecules.....

The 3rd grade classes have been putting in a tremendous effort to achieve their AR point goals! We are proud of you guys! #Leopardpride

...more 5th grade science

Mrs. Cotten's fifth-grade science classes have been exploring the impact of temperature on the movement of air molecules. To enhance their understanding, they applied their engineering skills to build hot air balloons.

Mrs. Hanney's class has been studying how temperature affects the way air molecules move. They used their engineering skills to construct hot air balloons to reinforce their knowledge.
