Mrs. Cotten's fifth-grade science classes have been exploring the impact of temperature on the movement of air molecules. To enhance their understanding, they applied their engineering skills to build hot air balloons.

Mrs. Hanney's class has been studying how temperature affects the way air molecules move. They used their engineering skills to construct hot air balloons to reinforce their knowledge.







Mrs. Speck's class is decked out in red for the district-wide wear red day in participation of Red Ribbon Week.

DES is excited to take part in "Red Ribbon" week by joining the district-wide "Wear Red Day." This week is all about educating young people and promoting drug prevention. We invite you to join in the fun by wearing red today, just like Ms. Jarrell's and Mrs. Wise's 3rd grade classes!

Have you met the elite squad of Ms. Adcock's 25-point club and the fabulous 10-point club? These 4th graders are absolutely smashing it! Give them a round of applause!



All of Mrs. Miles's fourth grade students have achieved their goals in AR and made the AR point club. Way to go, fourth graders!!



The Red Ribbon Campaign is the largest drug-abuse prevention campaign in the United States. DES will participate in the "Wear Red Day" on October 29th.

Fifth grade students from Mrs. Ferguson's and Mrs. Melton's math classes have been working hard to reach fluency goals in reflex math. They enjoyed a special trip to the book vending machine to celebrate their accomplishments.


Third grade students have been busy accomplishing their goals at DES! these students met their fluency goals in adition and subtraction on Reflex /Math. They celebrated with a trip to the book vending machine to choose a book. Way to go third grade.


Fifth grade students from Mr. Dykes' math classes were rewarded with a trip to the book vending machine for working so hard to accomplish their multiplication and division fluency goals on Reflex Math.


Mrs. Cotten's Science classes have completed over 50 Mastery Skills in IXL in the first 9 weeks.


Mrs. Tollett's class has been absolutely crushing it in their pursuit of achieving their AR goals!


Fifth graders Willie Sorrels, Kayla Martinez, and Dylan Hernandez have put in a tremendous amount of effort and have successfully conquered the first level of their fraction practice! Their hard work paid off, and they were thrilled to be rewarded with a special trip to the book vending machine for achieving their goals.
