Students of the Month for December. Way to go! #leopardpride

Mrs. Collins does an amazing job helping Mrs. Efird’s 3rd grade class learn opinion writing, “The Great Candy Cane Debate.” The students enjoyed using their scientific minds to observe the physical elements of the candy canes. They also liked the treat!

Mrs. Phillips and Mrs Runnels would like to thank Pilgrim's for all they do.

This great bunch of fourth graders have met their math fluency goals on Reflex Math and we’re rewarded with a trip to the book machine! Keep up the good work, 4th Graders!

These awesome third graders have met their goal on Reflex Math and enjoyed a trip to the book machine as a reward! Great job, third graders!

These amazing fifth grade students met their goal on Reflex Math and were rewarded with a trip to the book machine! Way to go, fifth grade!

In Mrs. Gilbert's third-grade class, the students took the timeless story of Stone Soup and set out to create their own delicious dish! Each young chef contributed a unique ingredient, transforming the classroom into a fantastic kitchen. They discovered that sharing is like adding spices—it enhances the flavor of everything! Who would have thought that a group of third graders could cook up a lesson in kindness along with a hearty pot of soup?

In Mrs. Holly Click's third-grade class, the kids took a classic tale of Stone Soup and decided to stir up their own culinary masterpiece! Each little chef brought a special ingredient, turning the classroom into a soup-er kitchen. They learned that sharing is like seasoning—it's what makes everything taste better! Who knew that a bunch of third graders could whip up a lesson in generosity along with a pot of soup?

DES wishes you a wonderful Thanksgiving.

The lunch ladies at DES whipped up an amazing meal, and the DHS Student Council served it up. Our awesome Razzle Dazzlers also brought some fun to the Senior Citizen Thanksgiving entertainment. Huge thanks to everyone who came out and made the day so memorable! A special shoutout to our principal, Mrs. Phillips, Assistant Principal Mrs. Runnels, and the office secretaries for organizing everything.

Today’s "Senior Citizen's" Thanksgiving Banquet was a smashing success! We had a delightful mix of familiar faces and some new ones. DES is thrilled to sprinkle a bit of joy and nourishment into their day—like gravy on mashed potatoes! A big thank you to everyone who showed up; you made our day as bright as a turkey in a Thanksgiving parade!

Senior Citizens come join the fun!

...more 4th grade study of waves....

Mrs. Miles' 4th graders are diving into the wacky world of waves! They're having a blast twisting and turning transverse and longitudinal waves with the help of some super cool Gizmo activities. It's like a science party where the waves are the guests of honor!

The DES art students participated in the 52nd annual King Art Show. The students artworks were displayed for the community to enjoy during the 15th-17th by Cossatot Arts and Crafts Association, who hosted the event. Congratulations to all the students from DES! We are so proud of you and your artistic talent!

DES Students for November. #Leopardpride

After reading several versions of the children's story Stone Soup, DES third graders in Mrs. Efird's class enjoyed making their own pot of soup and cornbread. Each student brought something to contribute to the soup and learned the theme of the story....when we all give what we are able to give, everyone can enjoy the results!

Progress Reports go home today.

Mrs. Miles 4th grade science classes have been using tuning forks to learn about sound waves.

Join us for a delightful gathering featuring delicious food, great company, and fun activities! We’re hosting a Senior Citizen's Day Luncheon at the De Queen Elementary School cafeteria on November 20, 2024, beginning at 11:30 am. This event is proudly sponsored by De Queen Public Schools.
