Third graders Christopher Hernandez, Arielle Gallardo, Armani Gallardo, Jowell Marrufo, and Santiago Hernandez were rewarded with a trip to the DES book machine today for reaching 100% fluency in Addition and Subtraction on Reflex math! Way to shine, 3rd graders!
Mrs. Morphew's class was exploring subtraction by playing tic tac toe. Students teamed up in pairs to engage in the game, where they took turns solving subtraction problems and verifying their answers. If they got it right, they could place their mark on the tic tac toe board; if not, it was their partner's turn to try.
Fourth graders Genesis Nieto, Adiel Aparicio, Zayden Williams, Melanie Arellano, Kilsen Timothy, Kayden Norris, Yalit Abarca, Elizabeth Ahumada, Neymar Torres, and Zayden Trinidad were rewarded with a trip to the DES book machine today for reaching their goals of 100% in Addition and Subtraction and/or Multiplication and Division on Reflex math! Way to go, 4th graders!!

After engaging with the text, “The Man in the Red Bandana”, a selection of Mrs. Pritchett’s literacy students presented the letters they wrote to Welles, a hero of the September 11 attacks,
Emma Coulter provided yellow ribbons for Mrs. Ferguson’s class to wear in honor of the events of September 11, 2001.
Mrs. Carver's third-grade class engaged with the book "The Man in the Red Bandana," which tells the story of Welles Crowther, a volunteer firefighter who tragically lost his life while rescuing and leading others to safety during the events of September 11, 2001. This poignant narrative was authored by his mother and illustrated by his father. In remembrance, the students created "Remembrance Ribbons" and discussed the reasons for their pride in being American. Additionally, they displayed a red bandana on their classroom flag to honor the memory of all the individuals who perished on that fateful day.
The Foster Grandparents Program donated food to our school through the 9/11 service project. Thank you very much!

The 5th graders had an absolute ball during decades spirit week, all revved up for the Leopard's game last week against Mena!

Labor Day, Sept. 2 , No School
This week, the teachers and students had a blast celebrating "decades day" as part of our spirit dress activities. We've also seen a lot of adorable little Leopards and Cheerleaders around! Let's cheer on our Leopards during the home game against Mena. Just a friendly reminder that your behavior at the games will be observed.
